My name is
Jaime Slade and I am a Baby Signs® Independent
Certified Instructor in Katy and the surrounding
areas. I fell in love with The Baby
Signs® Program when my son, Houston was just 6 weeks
old!
I was one
of those moms who read everything available about
children and parenting before my son was even born.
So, it only made sense that right
after Houston’s birth I would pick up a copy of
Linda Acredolo and Susan Goodwyn's book,
Baby Signs: How to Talk to Your Baby Before Your
Baby Can Talk. However, our local bookstore was
sold out. I thought that was a good sign (no pun
intended!) as there must be other mothers just like
me who want to sign with their babies. I didn’t
want to drag the baby to another bookstore so I
bought The Baby Signs® Complete Starter Kit. That
evening between late night feedings I read the
entire Parent’s Guide to the Baby Signs® Program and
watched the Parent DVD.
Once I
learned all the wonderful benefits the "worlds
leading sign language program for babies" had to
offer and how it increases infant/parent
communication and strengthens the bond between
parent and child, I was hooked! I truly believed in
the Baby Signs® Program's mission and philosophy and
was thrilled that I would be able to communicate
with Houston before he could even talk. I was also
confident other parents would share my opinion.
I began
signing with Houston the next morning and couldn’t
contain my excitement! I wanted everyone to
experience signing with their baby and realized that
I had a passion for teaching little hands how to
sign. That’s when I decided to become certified as
an Instructor of the Baby Signs® Program.
Since
then, I have been an enthusiastic user and promoter
of the Baby Signs® Program. I am glad to have the
opportunity to share this program with other
families as an Independent Certified Instructor.
